Ethiopia Yirgacheffe G2 84+ Grainpro
Ethiopia
Description
Located in Ethiopia’s famed Yirgacheffe region within the Oromia Regional State, this coffee is cultivated at elevations between 1,780 and 2,100 meters above sea level. Rich volcanic soils, abundant rainfall, and cool mountain temperatures create ideal conditions for slow cherry development, producing dense green coffee with remarkable sweetness and complexity. As part of the birthplace of Arabica coffee, Yirgacheffe has earned a global reputation for producing elegant washed coffees distinguished by their floral aromatics, vibrant citrus acidity, and delicate tea-like body.
This coffee is exported by Mintu Export, a producer and exporter that partners directly with more than 400 smallholder out-grower farmers throughout Yirgacheffe. In addition to working closely with farmers, Mintu operates its own washing stations and warehouse facilities, ensuring quality control and full traceability from cherry collection through export. By investing in direct relationships and sustainable production practices, Mintu helps preserve the exceptional quality of Yirgacheffe coffee while supporting the farming communities that produce it.
This coffee is classified as Grade 2, one of Ethiopia’s highest quality grades for washed coffees, indicating careful preparation with minimal defects. After harvesting, the coffee is fully washed to highlight the region’s distinctive terroir and delicate flavor profile. Combined with the high elevations of Yirgacheffe and meticulous processing, this results in a remarkably clean cup with bright citrus acidity, floral aromatics, and the refined, tea-like body that has made Ethiopian washed coffees some of the most sought-after in the world
