Brazil 14/16 Sul de Minas SSFC Exp Guaxupe
Brazil
Description
Brazilian coffee is celebrated for its reliability, approachable sweetness, and versatility, making it a cornerstone of the global coffee market. While many regions contribute to Brazil’s reputation, Sul de Minas—particularly the area around Guaxupé—stands out for its balanced cup profile and longstanding coffee tradition. Located in the southern part of Minas Gerais state, the region benefits from a mild climate with well-defined seasons, fertile volcanic soil, and gently rolling hills that create ideal conditions for coffee cultivation.
Centered near the coffee hub of Guaxupé, Sul de Minas is home to a dense network of small- and medium-sized farms, many passed down through generations. Farmers here often use traditional natural processing methods, drying cherries slowly on patios to enhance sweetness and body. The region’s altitudes of 950–1,100 meters help produce beans with a pleasing balance of flavor and smoothness, making Sul de Minas coffees highly sought after for both specialty blends and single-origin offerings.
SSFC (Strictly Soft Fine Cup) grading highlights coffees grown at higher elevations within Brazil that yield a cleaner, softer cup.
14/16 screen size ensures uniformity and consistency in roasting and extraction. Together, these qualities create a coffee that embodies the best of Sul de Minas—layered sweetness, nutty undertones, citrus brightness, and a silky-smooth finish.
