Description
Nestled in the fertile expanse surrounding Mount Kilimanjaro, the Kilimanjaro Estate stands as a testament to the unparalleled quality of Arabica coffee produced in this region. Renowned globally for its exceptional cultivation conditions, the estate underwent a significant transformation between 2000 and 2005 with the planting of an impressive one million new coffee trees. What sets this estate apart is its commitment to innovation and sustainability. Each coffee tree is intricately connected to a drip irrigation system, ensuring a continuous and precise water supply. The estate’s central wet mill plays a pivotal role in maintaining consistently high-quality standards while simultaneously reducing water usage during processing. Notably, since 2009, the Kilimanjaro Plantation has integrated a cutting-edge drying system comprising nine distinct drum sizes, collectively boasting a remarkable capacity of 111 cubic meters.
What exactly distinguishes a Peaberry? In contrast to the conventional coffee bean, which typically divides into two distinct halves during growth, a Peaberry emerges as a singular, round-shaped bean that develops within the coffee cherry. This rarity accounts for just about 5% of the global coffee bean harvest. Peaberry beans encompass elevated acidity, enriched sweetness, and a remarkable brightness on the palate.
